Welcome to Pottery Painting Summer Camp – our FAVORITE time of year! We’re bringing back several of our most popular themes, tweaking them for familiar faces, and adding something new!  Fridays, just like last year, will remain camper’s choice. We learned a long time ago that it just takes a second for campers to zero in on a piece of pottery that they just have to paint, so on Fridays each child will make an individual selection valued up to $15.00, and the rest of the week, we’ll work on wonderful, food-safe items that your family can enjoy for years to come!

Ice Cream Shoppe    May 29 – June 2 and July 10 – 14

We all know the saying: I scream; you scream; we ALL scream for ice cream! And this week we’re making sure we have all our bases covered as we paint an ice cream bowl, sundae bowl, ice cream float mug, and banana split bowl!

Let Freedom Ring!    June 5 – 9

Have plans for the 4th of July? You will be THRILLED and proud to display the items your child makes this week! Featured projects include a stars & stripes bowl, stars & stripes plate, an 8” abstract (on tile) of Lady Liberty, and a Fabulous 4th beverage mug.

Under the Sea    June 12 – 16

Dolphins, whales, crabs and sea horses are this week’s focus as we paint small round serving plates suitable for use or display! Know anyone with a beach house? These plates make amazing gifts!

Sweet Treats     June 19 – 23 and July 31-Aug. 4

Undoubtedly our sweetest camp, we’re bringing lots of whimsy and fun to our art with this theme! Projects include a birthday cake plate, cupcake stand, candy dish, and small fruit tray.

Tampa Treasures    June 26 – 30

There are so many things we love about our city, and for this theme we will paint a few of our favorites.  Featured items include a Gasparilla plate, pirate mug (great for a Bucs game and/or Gasparilla!), a Tampa Bay Lightening bowl, and a small serving piece with a beach scene!

Christmas in July   July 17 – 21

No doubt, even older children can take delight in gearing up for Santa! This week we’re painting a Cookies for Santa Plate, Santa mug, ornaments, and a candy dish! Don’t forget a sweater! We’re turning the air all the way down for this one!

Splish Splash   July 24-28

A campers’ favorite for sure, during these sessions we will create masterpieces using some of the studio’s most popular – and messy! – design techniques. Projects include a Party Animal plate (bubble wrap); fish plate (bubbles); an 8” hotplate (splattering); and an ice cream float mug (dotters).

Here are a few of the featured projects :-)

TWO HOUR DROP IN OPTION FOR CHILDREN AGES 9 AND UP

We at the Potter’s House Studio have come to appreciate how each family is unique with different needs and schedules, and because of this, we are offering more flexibility than ever during the summer months!   Prefer a predictable calendar? We’re offering a traditional summer camp option, Monday through Friday, from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm where campers complete planned projects.  Prefer a little more spontaneity? Then our drop-in option might just work for you!

Here’s how it works:

* Children – ages 9 and older – may be dropped off anytime between 11am and 1pm and stay for two hours!

* You choose your two hour time-frame.

* You may – but are not required to – register in advance.

* Cost is $25 per child for two hours studio time and includes one piece of pottery (of child’s  choice) up to $15.00, project materials and after hours labor required to glaze and fire pottery.

* While children will paint under our supervision, we cannot offer drop-ins the same amount of  “artistic guidance” that campers will receive in our traditional camp sessions. We will, however, help your child along.

* Children must be picked up by 3:00 pm.

* Credits will not be issued for children who do not stay for two full hours.

* Fee for extra studio time after two hours is $5.00 for each quarter hour.

* Drop-In option is for weekdays only May 29 – August 9, 2017. (CLOSED JULY 4.)

* Registration Forms and Liability Waivers are available online and in the studio and must be signed by parents/legal guardians.
